I have a new dog. I got her yesterday and have been gone sense. Her name is Princess. She was abused for five years so it took me all yesterday to try and get her to open up to me. She's a cutie, chubby from the woman who had her. Something was wrong with the woman and she acted strange, even eating princess dog food >__> So I'm guessing the lady switched foods and gave Princess lots of human food XD.

Day one

Had her outside in the dog area, I remained sitting on the ground with her all scared. I have been watching videos of Eldad75 on youtube, great guy helps many abused dogs and I did the things he did to show Princess that I was friendly. Petting the other dogs, letting her sniff my hand, was real careful with her and was talking in a soothing tone. After about 20 minutes of doing that she began sitting next to me and letting me pet her. This continued for about 2 hours until she finally allowed me to pick her up and took her into mom's master bathroom so the bugs stop bothering me. ene
In the bathroom she began to open up more, began wagging her tail. Let me pet her more without having to hold my hand out first. Then when it finally came to bed she slept on the floor in my room.

Day Two
I woke to her pacing back and forth so I took her outside so she can use the bathroom. She's very potty trained so it's a big plus and she loves going outside. When I brought her back into my room I began being playful with her. She was playing back with me and would run back and forth in my room. She's afraid of men so John was getting to bond with her too. We have to let her be with John more so she wont be scared but she's dong a good job. She gets along with the dogs except Chloe who is very alpha like >__> Nothing serious just growls but hopefully we can get them to stop.
Princess likes to pull at the leash when I took her out for a walk so mom will be getting a harness and toys for Princess also proper dog bowls. The other habit she has is going under my bed and wont come out. Had to use my futon to push her out so I could take her outside before bed. She's sleeping right now the poor thing.

She's such a cutie and I know she'll love it finally being loved on. It will be a bit before I can get her to letting her sleep in the bed with me. Until then I will be busy taking care of her until she's more open.
